||I've enjoyed Borzoi since 1984 and have participated in conformation, lure coursing, rescue, and responsible dog ownership activities, and served on multiple committees for both regional, national, and international Borzoi and all breed organizations.
I've had the honor of judging a few sweepstake classes for PVBC, RMBC, and will judge MBC in the summer of 2014.
Borzoi at Far Field have come from the kennels of Kostenov, Nonsuch, Echovesna, Khanzade, and Elance. In 2012, I bred my first litter out of a Nonsuch bitch. 4 pups under 15 months and in extremely limited showing have proved competitive. Beau was awarded a BCOA national sweeps placement and JC; Spice earned an LSBC Specialty bred-by placement in a 9 bitch class; Fire went RWD to 5 pts at the PVBC Specialty; and Bonnie went RW at her first show over adult competition. All under top breeder-judges. They have much to prove but are on their way.
In 2012 I acquired a lovely Meyta pup. She is an LSBC Specialty BOW, has her JC, and is half-way to her conformation championship at 2 yo.
My personal preference in style are dogs with flowing outlines, functional curves, and ground covering movement—dogs that embody the power, beauty, and grace that to me represents Borzoi.
Professionally, I'm a graphic designer, photographer, teacher (www.veniharlan.com) and co-founder of Marsh Dog (www.marshdog.com).
